ABOUT

Welcome to the Folk Art Society of Nova Scotia! As a registered Canadian charity, we are proud to celebrate and preserve the vibrant tradition of folk art in our province and beyond. Folk art is a powerful reflection of community, culture, and creativity, and through our work, we strive to honour the stories and spirit of the artists who shape it. Whether you're a lifelong admirer or new to this expressive art form, you've come to the right place.

Our mission is rooted in the promotion, presentation, and preservation of folk art and its history. We provide engaging educational opportunities for all ages featuring some of Canada’s leading folk artists and scholars. These events not only deepen our understanding of folk art but also help strengthen the connection between art and everyday life.

Nova Scotia has a rich and unique folk art legacy. By becoming a member, attending events, or supporting our programs, you become part of a growing community dedicated to celebrating creativity, heritage, and the voices of local artists. Together, we can ensure that this cherished cultural tradition continues to thrive for generations to come.
